Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is a treasure trove of biodiversity and natural beauty in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Spanning 11 hectares, it is one of the last remaining patches of rainforest in the city and a sanctuary for over 200 species of flora and fauna. Bukit Nanas is home to a network of well-maintained trails that wind through the forest, offering hikers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse themselves in nature. To make the most of your experience, we recommend joining a guided walk with Surin Suksuwan, a renowned expert in biodiversity conservation and plant expertise, with over 20 years of experience in the field. The walk will take approximately 1-1.5 hours and is suitable for beginners with a moderate level of fitness.

The nature walk will be held on Saturday, 17 June 2023, from 10.00am. The meeting point is at the entrance of Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, Jalan Raja Chulan.

The Bukit Nanas Forest Walk is a 1.5 km loop trail. The trail is well-marked and relatively easy to navigate, with a few steep inclines and steps along the way. Surin will guide you through the forest, pointing out the various plant species and wildlife that call Bukit Nanas home. Along the way, you’ll encounter several points of interest, including the Merbau and Jelutong trees, the Canopy Walk, and perhaps the Bukit Nanas Waterfall.

It’s important to dress appropriately for the walk, taking into account the weather conditions and the terrain. We recommend wearing comfortable, lightweight clothing that is suitable for hiking, such as a t-shirt and shorts or leggings. Closed-toe shoes with good grip and support, such as comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, are a must. It’s also important to protect yourself from insects and other wildlife, so we recommend applying insect repellant and wearing long sleeves and pants if possible.

To stay hydrated during the walk, we will provide a bottle of water. It’s also a good idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. If you’re an avid photographer, don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Joining a nature walk with Surin Suksuwan through Bukit Nanas is an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and reconnected with nature. With a well-maintained network of trails, a diverse range of flora and fauna, and a knowledgeable guide, Bukit Nanas offers a unique and rewarding hiking experience in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Remember to dress appropriately, bring plenty of water (even though we will provide water), and protect yourself from the elements, and you’ll be sure to have a great time.

Limited to 20 pax, kindly RSVP by 15 June 2023 to secure an exclusive activity for registered alumni only. To reserve a spot, please complete the form and submit the RM41.00 payment (entrance/guide/water/transaction cost).

We thank you for your time and participation, and we look forward to reconnecting with nature and creating memorable experiences with you. Escape the concrete jungle and join us for a refreshing nature walk at Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve.
